The inhabitants of Humaea worship a god of law and order named Nilagrom, characterized as two deities in one: Nilrium, the goddess if order, and Anagrom, the god of chaos and war.

The priests of Anagrom are ordained according to military rank; promotion in the military entails the acquisition of new rites. Non-military life is matriarchal. Giving birth is viewed as a religious rite. Priestesses serve as mid-wives.
