Qal-Id's government operates as a hereditary monarchy. Among its nobles, seven houses represent seven divisions of administration: military and weapons, transport, mining and refinery, research and development, law enforcement, healthcare and medical, industry and necessity. Despite the king's role as a revered figurehead, the real power in Qal-Id rests in the office of the prime minister, who is elected by seven leading families.
