Why does it always happen that just when I get used to the darkness, it's light again. It seems like just yesterday I was canning all the fruits. Now we're in illumanation again. I have to get out the old plow and get evrything ready for the growth cycle. My seed shipment just came in today. Before you know it, those damn flitters will be coming around here looking for food. Last illumanation they wanted half of my crop just so it wouldn't storm. It's an extortion racket is what it is. I mean look at em, sitting up there in the clouds all smug. You need me flitters, never forget that. Never!I mean how am I supposed to make a good life for my family with them taking most my food. I can't even aford to take my kids to a Hydron Show for Ring's sake.
I can't wait till it's dark again. We'll all sit in the house, nice and snug. I'll read the kids stories, sing songs and snack by the fire. But until then, I have to talk to the Mountain Man and meet their demands. I tried ignoring them once, the whole field flooded. It took me two growth cycles to get evrything cleaned up. The kids were starving. It's extortion is what it is. Extortion.
