Air region: Flora and Fauna

Aviaroo: This is a five-foot tall, kangaroo-like animal with slightly curved horns on the top of its head. Its yellow-white wings allow it to glide rather than fly. Because of this, the Aviaroo forms small herds on individual clouds, feeding on any plant it can find. Its bluish-brown fur is rough and short, but the fur on its tail is light grey and long enough to act as a rudder while gliding. A herd is known to be very territorial and unwelcoming to other animals, including Avians.

Gythoshal Trap Star: A small star-shaped wildflower of the sky with yellow-lined petals. Three long stems branch from the center, and on each is three long seeds attached to tiny star-shaped feathers designed to carry them on the wind, to populate other clouds with the flower. Furry hairs cover the inside of the petals, similar to a fly trap. When a Gythoshal is detected by these hairs, it snaps shut. The Gythoshal Trap Star uses the insects as a food source.

Black-footed Pyka: This furry creature has black wings on the sides of its head, which carry it into the air head first. It is yellow with black stripes, and its hind legs are black as well, giving the Pyka its name. Its fur is very long, and its sharp teeth allow it to feed on most anything. A very social animal, one is rarely alone. They lay yellowish eggs, which, when hatched, are raised by both parents.

Air Algae: Algae that resides in the clouds. With the density of the clouds on Doegum, the algae can survive easily.

Pharacara: A three-headed fire-breathing bird. The Pharacara flies about in the air and eats things such as the large Inflatis and other prey.

Shaldwyn: A plant that grows on a cloud; again, the clouds on Doegum are dense enough to allow a plant to grow on a cloud. The plant reproduces through cross-pollination, and is purple. It depends upon the Gythoshal for cross-pollination.

Gythoshal: An 8-legged insect. It has four eyes, and a long mouth that is uniquely adapted for the Shaldwyn plant. It has an interesting-looking stinger for self-defence. Its body is green and blue.

Inflatis: A large organic balloon. This creature has a large sack as most of its body that is inflated with some type of lighter-than-Doegum-air gas. Two eyes hang from this sack that allow it to have some interaction with its environment. The mouth of this creature, located on the very bottom of the creature, is full of stringy filter things that allow it to eat microorganisms in the air.

Floatiwyn: A HUGE flower that grows on a dense Doegum cloud. It has gigantic leaves that suck in the sunlight. Its flower is there to scare away predators, and it has seeds that blow on the wind to other clouds.

Gythorain: A traditional Avian pet, in a teardrop shape. Very small, around 8 inches (Earth Inches) wide including wingspan.

Papageki: This is a parrot-like bird with six eyes in two neat rows across its head. It is purple with maroon wings, and a male usually has a green Mohawk on the top of its head. The Papageki has a large yellow beak and deadly sharp talons. It is a bird of prey that hunts Pyka and other small animals of the sky. It will also feast on insects including Gythoshals and Gytharians. It lays up to three eggs, and mates for life. Lifespan: 60 Lightenings (10 years).
