The seven-ribbed dome, atop of which sits a sike sending out sonar signals, sits atop the Laower Flower, holding down the plate-like petals. When it is firmly planted atop the Laower Flower it inverts its spiked head to reach the starchy nectars inside. If a Laower Flower is not in sight the Umbrellat may enclose various insects and small rodents. (By Emily Carrigg)
